Skoda has revealed full UK pricing and specifications for its new all-electric Peaq, a large seven-seat SUV that will become the brand’s flagship EV when order books open in September.
Designed to sit at the top of Skoda’s rapidly expanding electric line-up, the Peaq combines long-range capability, seating for up to seven adults and a strong focus on practicality. It is also the largest electric vehicle the Czech manufacturer has produced to date and forms a key part of its plans to significantly expand its EV offering.
Big on space and practicality
At almost 4.9 metres long, the Peaq is aimed squarely at families looking for lots of interior space without moving into luxury-brand territory. A wheelbase of almost three metres helps maximise room for passengers, including those in the third row, where Skoda says adults can travel comfortably.
As you would expect from a Skoda, practicality is a major selling point. Boot capacity ranges from 299 litres with all seven seats in use to a substantial 2,075 litres when the rear seats are folded flat. There is also a useful 37-litre front storage compartment that can accommodate charging cables and other small items.
The exterior introduces the latest evolution of Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language, featuring an illuminated Tech-Deck Face, flush-fitting door handles and alloy wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches.
Long range and quick charging
Power comes from an 86kWh battery pack – the largest ever fitted to a Skoda EV. Buyers can choose between the rear-wheel-drive Peaq 90 and the all-wheel-drive Peaq 90x.
Outputs range from 290bhp to 303bhp, with the range-topping 90x capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 6.8 seconds. While outright performance is not the primary focus, those figures should ensure the Peaq feels suitably brisk despite its size.
Perhaps more important for family buyers is the claimed WLTP range of up to 390 miles, putting it among the longest-range electric SUVs in its class. Rapid charging at up to 199kW means a 10 to 80 per cent recharge can be completed in around 28 minutes, provided you can find a suitably powerful charger.
Vehicle-to-Load functionality is also included, allowing owners to power external devices such as camping equipment or e-bikes directly from the car’s battery.
Technology and trim levels
Inside, the Peaq debuts a new Android-based infotainment system centred around a large 13.6-inch vertical touchscreen, complemented by a 10-inch digital driver display. Features such as Google Maps, Spotify and YouTube are integrated, while a digital key allows owners to use a smartphone or smartwatch instead of a conventional key.
Three trim grades will be available. Entry-level SE L models come well equipped with heated front and rear seats, a heated windscreen, 19-inch alloy wheels and the new infotainment system.
Edition models add matrix LED headlights, a premium interior, Area View cameras and self-parking technology. SportLine versions bring a more dynamic appearance with black styling details, sports seats, 20-inch wheels and Dynamic Chassis Control as standard.
A panoramic glass roof with adjustable transparency, massage seats and a high-end Sonos audio system will also be available.
Prices
The Peaq range starts at £51,980 for the SE L. Edition models are priced from £55,130, while the flagship SportLine starts at £58,280.
The combination of seven-seat practicality, impressive range and fast charging should make the Peaq an appealing option for families making the switch to electric power.
