The Pizza Co. has been named Ulster Takeaway Chain of the Year at the 2026 Irish Takeaway Awards, recognising the locally owned fresh, fast food operator’s continued growth and quality offering.
The award was announced at a gala ceremony in Dublin celebrating excellence across Ireland’s takeaway sector, with winners selected by an independent judging panel following a rigorous assessment process.
The recent win follows The Pizza Co. being named Best Pizza in Ireland at the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards following a public vote and a significant period of growth which included a £600,000 investment into the business, supporting the opening of two new stores in east and north Belfast and the creation of 40 new jobs. The investment also included enhancements to its production facilities, with dough now made fresh daily in a dedicated preparation kitchen using premium Italian equipment.
Owned and operated by long-time friends Matthew Stevenson, Conall Humston and Matt McGrath, The Pizza Co. has grown steadily in recent years and continued expansion is on the menu.
Matthew Stevenson, Director of The Pizza Co., said: “We are delighted to have been named Ulster Takeaway Chain of the Year. This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our teams across all eight stores and our ongoing commitment to delivering the very best pizza to our customers. We work hard to source quality ingredients and invest in our people and our processes, so to receive this award following a major period of growth for The Pizza Co., makes it an especially proud moment for us. On behalf of my fellow directors, we’d like to thank every team member because without them, this award would not have been possible.”
“We are focused on building a strong, trusted brand built on quality and consistency and this award reinforces that we’re on the right path as we continue to expand across Northern Ireland,” Matthew concluded.
