In the wake of the recent acts of violence and vandalism targeting businesses within our minority communities, the Minorities Recognition Awards NI (MRANI) has launched a new Minorities Recognition Awards ceremony, to be held on October 4th at the iconic Titanic Belfast.
These acts of aggression have not only caused significant material damage but have also inflicted deep emotional wounds and fostered an atmosphere of fear among minority communities. It is imperative to address the underlying issues of racism and prejudice that fuelled these attacks. The Minorities Recognition Awards will serve as a powerful platform to challenge these harmful stereotypes and highlight the positive, substantial contributions made by the ethnic minorities to the economic and social fabric of our nation.
Far too often, the vital role of minority communities in driving economic growth and innovation is overlooked. This event sponsored by Titanic Belfast, Sensata Technologies, Danske Bank, Queen’s University, Ulster University, Ulster Bank, Go Succeed, Belfast City Council and Craic NI will spotlight the achievements of individuals and businesses who have excelled in various fields, demonstrating the immense talent and potential within these communities. By recognizing their accomplishments, we aim to dispel harmful myths and foster a more inclusive and equitable society.
Founder of the awards, Diane Davis (pictured middle) says; “By uniting as one, we not only overcome challenges but also create a society where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered.”
The Minorities Recognition Awards will be a celebration of resilience, determination, and the indomitable human spirit. We invite the public, media, and community leaders to join us in honouring these exceptional individuals and organizations as we collectively work towards a more just and harmonious future.
