Leading Offsite Construction Company, P McVey Building Systems has appointed James Scullion as Commercial & Finance Director, to help drive its next stage of expansion amid surging demand for offsite construction across the UK and Ireland.
The appointment comes at a major shift for the industry. Facing persistent traditional build delays, rising material costs and capacity challenges across healthcare and education, public and private sector buyers are increasingly turning toward modular solutions. Having achieved 400% growth over the last five years, P McVey Building Systems is expanding its leadership team to capture a larger share of this growing market.
Scullion brings two decades of proven commercial acumen from the engineering sector, with extensive experience scaling operations, navigating complex supply chains, and driving growth in high-precision manufacturing environments. His appointment coincides with P McVey Building Systems celebrating 40 years in business. Founded in 1986 by Pat McVey, the family owned firm is working to consolidate its operations into a new, single headquarters to help significantly boost factory capacity.
Adrian McVey, Operations Director said: “The momentum behind modular construction is undeniable. Sector buyers – particularly across health trusts and education boards – need fast track capacity that delivers permanent quality without the disruption, noise, and delays of traditional building sites. As we mark 40 years in business and invest heavily in scaling our manufacturing footprint, bringing James on board is a major win for us. He brings a deep understanding of high-precision engineering and a sharp commercial edge that will be invaluable as we secure major framework contracts and expand our footprint across the UK and Irish markets.”
James added: “Having watched P McVey Building Systems establish itself as a true leader in offsite manufacturing, I’m thrilled to join the executive team at such an exciting juncture. The transition from heavy engineering to modular construction is a natural one – both industries rely on precision, speed, and exceptional quality control. Offsite construction is no longer a temporary alternative; it is rapidly becoming the primary choice for modern, sustainable infrastructure. My priority will be to build on the firm’s 40 year legacy, sharpen our commercial engine, and deliver seamless, high-value space solutions for our growing client base in Great Britian, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland.”
