Musgrave Northern Ireland and its Centra, SuperValu and Mace brands were honoured last week at the 2026 Retail Industry Awards in London, with three top titles and five highly commended accolades.
For the third consecutive year, McPolin’s Centra Annaclone walked away with the sought-after Independent Retailer of the Year title (up to 1,500 sq ft category). Judges were particularly impressed by such an extensive customer offer in a compact space, together with the store’s support for the community and fundraising initiatives.
Woolsey’s Centra Scotch Street in Portadown was named Forecourt Retailer of the Year (up to 3,000 sq ft), recognising its excellence in forecourt retailing, customer experience, immaculate presentation and support for community.
Leading convenience brand Centra NI beat off the competition to secure the coveted Symbol Group of the Year award for the second consecutive year – praised for support for the brand’s independent retail partners, strong local sourcing and investment in community and sustainability.
In addition, five stores under the Musgrave NI brands secured highly commended accolades. Woods’ SuperValu Fruitfield in Co Armagh was highly commended in the Independent Retailer of the Year (over 6,000 sq ft) category, while Boyd’s Mace Roguery Road, Toome received highly commended recognition in the Forecourt Retailer of the Year (up to 3,000 sq ft) category.
