Chairman of Belfast City Council’s City Growth and Regeneration Committee, Councillor Ryan Murphy said: “It’s evident that there’s a real appetite and need for advice, guidance and support among Belfast’s business community during these highly challenging times. Our SMEs and entrepreneurs are vital to our city’s success, so we’ve been focusing on understanding their current needs to develop tailored new areas of virtual support including building a digital business, winning business from ongoing procurement opportunities – and of course planning for recovery.
“We’re encouraging businesses to register with us so that we can identify what support they need and put in place a range of mentoring and advice that’s going to be of most value to them. Our priority is helping them to survive the current situation and helping them to prepare for growth mode again once we’re out the other side of this pandemic.”
A range of webinars have been scheduled to provide practical guidance and case studies of local businesses – including a session on 30 April with Scrubs NI on how they responded to the COVID-19 situation and podcasts will cover a range of relevant thematic subjects including building personal resilience, and leading others in crisis situations.
