The M&S Aldergrove store is to close for a number of weeks to allow re-development work to take place.
The store will temporarily close at 6pm on Saturday 01 August and is set to re-open in autumn, with an exact date to be shared closer to the time. All colleagues will be temporarily based in nearby stores during the works.
When the store reopens, customers can expect to see the existing M&S store expand into the neighbouring service station unit, doubling the size of the current offering.
Customers can look forward to a new layout, including a refreshed layout, a larger in-store bakery, upgraded coffee-to-go facilities and a frozen food range for the first time at Aldergrove.
The transformed store will offer more than 2,000 additional customer favourites, including the M&S Food to Go range of salads and sandwiches. Customers will continue to enjoy convenient meal solutions, including Collection Wood Fired pizzas and ready meals, alongside more than 100 Remarkable Value everyday staples.
The renewed store will also feature additional self-checkout tills and will continue to offer its Click & Collect service when it reopens.
The expansion will create up to 25 new jobs, with recruitment and staff training already underway.
M&S Aldergrove Store Manager, David Brady, said: “We are excited for work to get started to transform and improve the store for our customers. We will have more delicious products available, a brand-new look and feel and even more of the M&S quality, trusted value and innovation our customers expect. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back this autumn and we look we forward to sharing an update on our re-opening date nearer the time.”
While closed, customers can find their M&S favourites at the nearby M&S Belfast Abbey Centre (1 Glenmount Road Newtownabbey) store, open between 8am and 10pm Monday to Friday, 8am – 8pm on Saturdays and 1pm-6pm on Sundays.
