The Construction Employers Federation (CEF) has partnered with the Institute of Directors (IoD) Northern Ireland to provide CEF members with opportunities to strengthen their leadership and management skills and support the continued development of their careers.
Under the partnership, CEF members will have access to a range of IoD professional development programmes designed to develop leadership capability, strategic thinking, governance and board effectiveness.
The programmes include:
- Full Certificate and Diploma in Company Direction
- Finance for Non-Finance Directors
- Leadership for Directors
- Role of Director and the Board
- Strategy for Directors
The programmes are aimed at directors, business owners, senior managers and those progressing into leadership roles, providing an opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to lead effectively in an increasingly complex business environment.
CITB NI funding contributes towards the cost of the programmes for eligible construction businesses, helping to make leadership and management development more accessible to CEF members.
Mark Spence, Chief Executive of CEF, said:
“Strong leadership is fundamental to the future success of our industry. Our members are leading businesses through a rapidly changing environment, and investing in the skills and capabilities of those leaders is increasingly important.
“Our partnership with IoD Northern Ireland provides CEF members with access to high-quality professional development opportunities that can support them throughout their management careers.
“With CITB NI funding contributing towards the cost of the programmes for eligible construction businesses, this provides an important opportunity for businesses to invest in their people and develop their leadership capability.
“This is about more than individual courses. It is about investing in the people who lead our businesses, strengthening organisations and helping to develop the next generation of leaders across the construction and built environment sector.
“We are delighted to be working with IoD Northern Ireland and look forward to developing the partnership further.”
John Hansen, Chair of IoD Northern Ireland, said:
“Effective leadership is critical to the success and resilience of businesses across Northern Ireland. At the IoD, we are committed to supporting directors and business leaders to develop their skills, strengthen their governance and make a positive contribution to the organisations and communities they lead.
“Our partnership with CEF provides an excellent opportunity to connect with leaders across the construction and built environment sector and to support their continued professional development.
“We look forward to working with CEF and its members to strengthen leadership capability and help equip the next generation of leaders with the skills and confidence to navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
