Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Emerald Airlines, the largest operator out of Belfast City Airport, has introduced Express Bag Drop kiosks, offering customers a faster, more seamless airport experience. Powered by the Aer Lingus mobile app, the new two-step process enables passengers to tag and drop their checked baggage in under two minutes.
The Express Bag Drop, exclusively available to Aer Lingus Regional passengers, allows those travelling to check in their baggage in just minutes.
Utilising the Airware technology, the new kiosks allow Aer Lingus Regional customers to take control of their journey. Customers simply use the Aer Lingus mobile app to scan a QR code on the kiosks, generating a tag for their bag. They then bring their bag to the bag drop area where they scan it, before making their way to the departure gates.
Strategically positioned within the check-in area, the kiosks are designed for ease of use and convenience. Aer Lingus Regional ground staff are on hand to help familiarise those using the new facility for the first time.
Commenting on the announcement, John Dillon, Head of Ground Operations at Emerald Airlines said:
“Our new Express Bag Drop option means that passengers flying with us from Belfast City Airport can enjoy a faster, more streamlined check-in experience. It’s designed to reduce wait times, minimize stress and give passengers more time to relax, shop or grab a coffee before their flight.”
