ABC Enterprise Grant Fund Opens To Support Local Micro-Businesses

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council has launched the ABC Enterprise Grant Fund, a new initiative designed to help micro-businesses across the borough invest, expand and thrive.

This new funding opportunity will open for applications on Monday 17 November and will offer capital grants of between £1,000 and £5,000, covering up to 50% of eligible project costs. This money can be used for new equipment or machinery to improve productivity or computer equipment and software (outright purchase only).

Micro-businesses are those who employ up to 10 employees and these businesses are the backbone of our local economy – driving innovation, creating jobs, and strengthening communities. Through this fund, the Council is reaffirming its commitment to economic growth, providing targeted financial support to businesses that need it most.

Speaking about the launch of the new Enterprise Grant Fund, Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, Alderman Stephen Moutray, said: “Micro-businesses are vital to the success of our borough. They not only create employment opportunities but also bring innovation, resilience, and vibrancy to our towns and rural communities. Their success is integral to the prosperity and sustainability of the borough as a whole.

“The ABC Enterprise Grant Fund has been carefully designed to provide targeted financial support to help these businesses overcome barriers, seize new opportunities, and realise their growth potential. Whether it’s investing in equipment, or enhancing digital capabilities, this fund can make a real difference. We strongly encourage all eligible micro-businesses to apply and take full advantage of this valuable opportunity to invest in their future and contribute to the continued economic development of our council area.”

Applications are open to all micro-businesses from across the borough. Businesses who have not previously received funding from either Go Succeed or the Rural Business Development Grant Scheme, will score more favourably and are encouraged to apply.

Full details, including the eligibility criteria and application guidance, are available on the Council’s website. Search for ‘ABC Enterprise Grant Fund’ or go to: https://www.armaghbanbridgecraigavon.gov.uk/business/abc-enterprise-grant-fund/
