Victoria Square, Northern Ireland’s largest retail and leisure destination, has announced a one-year charity partnership with leading local cancer charity, Action Cancer. Victoria Square and Action Cancer will aim to raise a fantastic £20,000 through a number of exciting, fundraising activities and campaigns including fashion and beauty events, specialized style talks, an abseil down the famous Victoria Square Dome, coffee mornings plus many more amazing events.


Victoria Square, Northern Ireland’s number one shopping centre is a market-leader in retail. The centre opened its doors in Belfast city centre nearly 11 years ago and has been offering an amazing shopping experience to customers ever since.

As a local company we are delighted to support Action Cancer who offer life-saving services, reassurance and support to those going through a potentially extremely difficult time.”

Lucy McCusker, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Action Cancer said, “One person every hour is diagnosed with cancer in NI. Money raised via this brilliant new partnership with Victoria Square will allow Action Cancer to continue to provide a range of cancer prevention, detection and support services, helping local people through their cancer journey. We are delighted to be working in partnership with Victoria Square and very excited about planning a range of innovative and exciting new events together. There will be something for everyone to enjoy from style events to abseil events and family friendly activities over the next 12 months.”

Action Cancer’s mission is to save lives and support people affected by cancer. The charity provide free digital breast screening for women aged 40 – 49 and 70+ (outside the NHS screening range), M.O.T. health checks for men and women at Action Cancer House and onboard the Big Bus, a mobile unit which travels to 225 locations throughout Northern Ireland each year. Last year Action Cancer screened 9,729 ladies. For every 1000 screenings 5- 6 women have their cancer detected when it may have gone unnoticed. Action Cancer also offers a range of therapeutic support services for those affected by cancer in Northern Ireland.
