Communications and public relations practice, Jago, travelled to London last week to pick up a number of awards across a range of categories in the prestigious Travel Marketing Awards 2020.   The practice, with offices in Belfast and Dublin, was awarded Rising Star of Travel PR with Jago’s Fiona Hanna winning hands-down in this coveted individual category.

Jago was also extremely proud to be recognised with client, Tourism NI, winning the overall Destination Brand of the Decade accolade.

The Destination Brand of the Decade award saw Northern Ireland triumph over a number of very worthy competitors for the title including Tourism Western Australia, Japan National Tourism Organization, Turismo Centro Portugal and Malta. Jago has supported the organisation in recent years on its record-breaking journey in transforming tourism in Northern Ireland.

Jago and Tourism NI’s PR work in the Republic of Ireland was also recognised with an International Campaign Award for ‘We’ve Come A Long Way’.

The Travel Marketing Awards set the standard for marketing excellence in the international travel industry. An institution since 2009, the awards have firmly established their reputation as one of the most coveted marketing awards in travel and tourism.

Jago Managing Director, Shona Jago-Curtis said: “We were absolutely delighted to be in London last week with the excellent team at Tourism NI to collect Destination Brand of the Decade award.  This award recognises the hugely transformative work of this forward-thinking client whose strategic approach, creativity and resilience has put Northern Ireland truly in the international spotlight over the last decade.   As the travel and tourism industry faces significant challenges in the weeks and months ahead, it should be recognised that we have the very best hands to steer the industry forward at this time.”
