Danske Bank UK Chief Executive Kevin Kingston has appointed two Deputy Chief Executives from within his Belfast-based senior management team. Vicky Davies is Managing Director of Strategy & Corporate Development at the Bank and Stephen Matchett is Chief Financial Officer.

Both will retain their current roles alongside additional Deputy Chief Executive responsibilities.

Vicky Davies was with Ulster Bank for seven years before moving to Danske Bank in 2012, initially to become Head of Business Development. Earlier in her career she worked in London as a Management Consultant. In 2016 she became the Bank’s first ever female executive board member.

Stephen Matchett joined Danske Bank as Chief Financial Officer and an executive board member in 2014, having previously been Chief Financial Officer at Bank of Ireland UK. Earlier in his career he worked for PwC and Deloitte.

CEO Kevin Kingston, himself a former Deputy Chief Executive at the Bank, said:

As fellow executive board directors Stephen and Vicky have been instrumental to the Bank’s success in recent years. I am delighted to make these appointments, which come at a time when we, as the biggest bank in Northern Ireland, are operating in an increasingly complex and challenging economic and regulatory environment. Through strengthening our management structures in this way, I believe we will be better positioned to address the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”

Gerald Gregory, the Bank’s Chairman, said:

It is testament to the excellent job that Kevin Kingston and his team continue to do, that the Board has agreed to the creation of these two Deputy Chief Executive roles. The Bank is well positioned moving forward and will continue to play an integral role in supporting the Northern Ireland economy.”
