Belfast TradFest is celebrating as it officially welcomed its largest audience to the festival since it started in 2017. Citywide venues played host to many events with many taking place in Cathedral Quarter, supported by Destination CQ BID.


The week-long event, 23rd – 29th July 2022, included a summer school and a full programme of concerts, workshops, talks, lectures, sessions, céilís &festival club. The festival closing night performance at the Ulster Hall featured Sharon Shannon Big Band plus a solo performance from Liam O’Manolai.

Belfast TradFest is the only one of its kind in Northern Ireland and brings together both the Irish and the Ulster-Scots musical traditions, in a shared celebration of culture & heritage.
