Bank of Ireland is backing financial and enterprise education as it announces the renewal of its partnership with Young Enterprise Northern Ireland. Building on its decade long partnership, the Bank has become a Young Enterprise Northern Ireland ESG Backer, ensuring financial literacy and entrepreneurship development sessions are available to young people in classrooms across Northern Ireland.

Colleagues from a range of areas in Bank of Ireland will also be involved in delivering the classroom sessions and will be giving the young people an insight into the range of careers available in the financial services industry.
Commenting on the partnership, George Higginson, Managing Director Northern Ireland and UK Strategic Partnerships, Bank of Ireland UK said:
“Equipping young people with the skills they need to make informed financial choices is vitally important. By making financial literacy accessible from early years, we can help young people build the confidence and knowledge they need, helping to adopt good financial habits that help them now and into adulthood.
“We are delighted to continue our support for Young Enterprise Northern Ireland and to support the ambition that every young person has access to financial and enterprise education.
“Recognising that financial wellbeing is important at all stages of life, we have developed a series of free financial literacy resources which are available to parents, community groups and employers covering a range of different topics.
Carol Fitzsimons, MBE, Chief Executive Officer of Young Enterprise Northern Ireland, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Bank of Ireland as our newest ESG Business Backer. Their support will be instrumental in helping us equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to become impactful business leaders. With the help of Bank of Ireland these young entrepreneurs will be well-positioned to contribute to a more prosperous future for Northern Ireland.”
This partnership demonstrates Bank of Ireland’s ongoing commitment to supporting the development of young talent in Northern Ireland while gaining confidence in their finances and inspiring them to lead Northern Ireland’s economic future.
