He explains: “Since setting up Dream Apartments just over one year ago and having such success so early on, I wanted to give something back.”
“I got chatting to Sarah on my way home from a business trip in Birmingham and learnt about the amazing work the charity does for children and families around Northern Ireland.”
“As a father of two, it struck a real chord with me and I wanted to get involved and help in any way that I could.”
Children’s Heartbeat Trust is Northern Ireland’s leading children’s heart charity providing practical and emotional support to families with children and young people that have been born with congenital heart disease. This includes everything from fundraising for medical equipment for hospitals, emotional support and paediatric first aid training for families, toys for the children, summer camps for young people affected and even the parent’s accommodation at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.
Tom continued: “To be able to donate money that I know will make a difference to young people’s lives and their families is so rewarding. I will continue to support the charity in the months and years to come.”
Katherine McDonald, Interim CEO of Children’s Heartbeat Trust said: “I am delighted that when Tom heard about the work of Children’s Heartbeat Trust he was inspired to set up such a fantastic partnership between the charity and Dream Apartments.”
“Every year around 200 babies are born with congenital heart disease, and since 1984 it has been our mission to provide practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people living with heart disease and their families.”
“We offer youth and family support services, fund research and lead campaigns that aim to put children, young people and their families at the heart of all congenital cardiac services.”
Katherine concluded: “We look forward to our continued partnership with Tom and Dream Apartments as one of our valued corporate partners. The funds that Dream Apartments has so generously donated will go towards initiatives that will help improve services for young people living with heart disease.”
