Spotlight On Digital Construction At Belfast Event

Digital Construction Live Exhibition, Conference and Awards takes place this Thursday 15 June at the Crowne Plaza, Belfast, bringing together those who procure, design, construct or manage built assets, with the aim to focus on the future of digital construction and digital ways of working using Building Information Modelling (BIM).

Sarah Travers will compere the day, which is free to attend, and will see a range of keynote speakers from Andreas Galatoulas, AECOM on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, plus panel sessions from Diversity Mark and Procore. David Comiskey, Reader, Belfast School of Architecture and the Built Environment at Ulster University will lead the afternoon sessions, with the day closing after Maria Hudson, CMO of BuildData Group discusses tech enabled regulatory compliance.

The evening events will see attendees gather for the Digital Construction Awards, where host Pamela Ballantine will announce winners of categories from Most Innovative New Software Product and Best Use of Digital Construction for SHEQ, to Digital Construction Rising Star and Digital Construction Champion.

Digital Construction Live Ltd was formed by Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital construction consultant and expert, Managing Director of Origin7, Melanie Dawson and events expert, Managing Director of Weir Events, Sarah Weir.

Melanie Dawson says there is still much to be understood about BIM and how crucial digital construction is to futureproof the industry; “When the world stood still in 2020, technology was our saviour for many areas of work and life, however, due to a lack of knowledge and experience on how to use the tech available in our sector, the construction industry took a huge blow.

“Our Conference is an opportunity for all businesses which fall within the construction industry to learn about BIM, having a digital twin of their bricks and mortar projects and bringing everything from HR to infrastructure into the digital age. The benefits are vast and long term including seamless and productive collaboration, boosting sustainability credentials, saving costs on resource overheads managing losses and boosting project efficiency.”
