Ballymena manufacturing giants Wrightbus, global leaders in zero emission buses, are among the headline winners at the 2025 Business Eye Sustainability & ESG Awards.
The awards were presented at a black tie event at the Culloden Estate & Spa last night (Thursday, 15th May) in front of a business audience of more than 300 guests.
Wrightbus was named Sustainable Company of the Year in the Medium-Large category, while Stream BioEnergy, took the honours among the Small-Medium organisations.
Stream, based in the Republic of Ireland but with a plant near Ballymena, converts 40,000 tonnes of poultry waste annually into enough renewable energy to power 6,000 homes.
The Sustainability Team Of The Year award went to the dedicated Green Matters Committee at Danske Bank, while Alan Lowry, the entrepreneur behind the innovative Environmental Street Furniture was named as Sustainable Business Leader of the Year. He is also Chair of the Federation of Small Businesses NI Policy Board.
Two ESG Awards, aimed at organisations covering the entire Environmental, Social & Governance agendas, were won by SHS Group in the larger category and recycling specialists Vyta amongst the SMEs.
Downpatrick-based Finnebrogue took the honours in the manufacturing category while Killeavy Castle Estate retained its title as Northern Ireland’s most sustainable hospitality business.
