Northern Ireland Entrepreneur Launches Skincare Brand After Nine-Stone Weight Loss

A Northern Ireland entrepreneur who lost nine stone has launched a new advanced skincare brand designed to support the skin through periods of physical transformation, as the rapid rise of weight-loss injections begins to reshape how people experience their bodies.

Marc McKee, a Chartered Marketer, is the founder of ElastiK° Skin, a system-led advanced skincare and beauty technology brand launching on 14 April 2026, to coincide with In-Cosmetics Global in Paris, the world-leading trade show for cosmetic ingredients and formulation innovation.

ElastiK° Skin works by focusing on the core functions that influence how skin behaves over time: hydration, elasticity, renewal and barrier support, rather than targeting isolated concerns.

Designed as a system rather than a single product, it combines topical skincare with at-home LED light technology and a structured routine intended to be followed consistently. Formulations include peptides to support elasticity, hydration-focused ingredients such as hyaluronic acid and Sodium PCA, barrier-supporting ceramides, and bakuchiol as a gentler alternative to retinol.

All formulations have been developed by qualified cosmetic chemists, with expertise in skin barrier science, hydration systems, peptides and formulation tolerance.

The brand enters the market at a time of demand for medical weight loss solutions. Recent University College London data shows that around 1.6 million adults have used weight-loss drugs such as Wegovy and Mounjaro in the past year, with nearly one in ten people either using or considering them¹.

Approximately 64% of adults in Northern Ireland are classified as overweight or obese, according to the Department of Health². This includes roughly 28% who are obese and 37% who are overweight, highlighting the scale of the issue driving this shift.

Developed following Marc’s own experience of significant weight loss, ElastiK° Skin is built around the idea that skin does not age in a straight line but changes in response to weight loss, hormonal shifts and lifestyle transitions. Rather than positioning itself as a traditional anti-ageing brand, it is designed specifically to support skin during periods of visible physical transformation.

“At the end of my weight loss journey, I realised that while I had transformed physically, my skin was going through its own transition. There was very little out there that addressed that in a structured, realistic way,” said Marc.

The brand stands apart by moving away from individual “hero products” and instead focusing on a system of carefully designed formulations intended to be used consistently as a routine.

The launch includes five topical skincare products alongside an LED facial mask designed for at-home use and early observational studies have shown promising results, with all participants reporting improvements in hydration, firmness, skin quality and elasticity when following the routine consistently.

Marc, who has a background in digital strategy, has self-funded the venture and built the brand through research, lived experience and engagement with online communities documenting weight loss journeys.

“ElastiK° Skin isn’t about reversing ageing or promising unrealistic outcomes,” he continues. “It’s about supporting skin as it adapts. That requires consistency, not intensity. That’s what worked for me.”

The rise of GLP-1 weight-loss medications has accelerated global conversation around skin transformation, as the effects extend beyond weight alone.

ElastiK° Skin positions itself at the intersection of this shift, offering a system designed to support the skin through the often-overlooked side effects of transformation, including loss of elasticity, dehydration and barrier disruption.

Ahead of launch, the brand has already gained early industry recognition, with Marc and ElastiK° Skin named a finalist in four categories at the UK Small Business Awards 2026: Best Beauty Business, Best New Business, Best Small Business Overall, and Male Entrepreneur of the Year.

ElastiK° Skin will initially operate as a direct-to-consumer brand via its own website, with selected availability also planned through emerging GLP-1-focused digital wellness platforms, including Jurni GLP in the US, as the business looks to expand internationally. From launch, the skincare range will be available to customers in more than 30 countries, including the US and across Europe.

The brand falls under Marc’s business, Renatus Collective, a broader platform focused on transformation, wellbeing and digital health storytelling.

“This isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about supporting people through change, because when your body transforms, your skin does too, and no one should have to figure that out on their own.”
