Corporate, commercial and property lawyers from the Belfast office of multinational law firm Pinsent Masons will have the opportunity to make use of a new AI tool as the firm launches a strategic partnership with leading legal AI platform, Legora.
The deal formalises an extensive pilot programme across the company’s corporate, commercial and property groups and will make Legora available to lawyers in these groups across the firm’s network of offices.
A partnership centred on cocreating new ways to enhance the client experience, Pinsent Masons and Legora will work together to accelerate the exploration of Artificial Intelligence’s (AI) applications rather than continually relying on off-the-shelf tools.
Legora is going to be rolled out globally, with pilots set to commence in all remaining practice groups. This partnership will bring the firm’s total number of Legora users to 1,000, with plans to expand this further as use cases are proven.
The successful implementation of Legora will be supported by the firm’s expanding cohort of ‘AI Champions’ – lawyers from associate through to partner level who will be trained to help upskill their colleagues in using Legora.
Laura Gillespie, partner and cyber and privacy specialist at Pinsent Masons, said: “We see how client expectations evolve as legal technology proliferates. Our focus is on deploying platforms like Legora to add value for our clients, streamlining administrative processes so we have more time to focus on our clients – and help deliver insights with commercial edge.”
Pinsent Masons’ Director of Transformation, Neil Green, said understanding clients are under pressure to demonstrate greater value using technology provided the foundation for how the company approached the Legora relationship, and the ways it can make the greatest impact.
Claire Francis – Head of the Change and Innovation Board at Pinsent Masons – added: “This partnership shows that our focus is not on simply adopting technology, but on equipping our people to work confidently and creatively with it.
“By collaborating closely with Legora, we are bringing together the best of huma expertise and advanced AI, codeveloping tools and approaches that enhance our capabilities and empower our teams. The pilot’s allowed us to explore how this technology can complement our lawyers’ skills, helping us deliver smarter, faster and more meaningful outcomes for clients.”
