Irish Astronaut To Headline At IoD NI Annual Dinner

The Institute of Directors Northern Ireland (IoD NI) has announced that Dr Norah Patten, who is set to make history as Ireland’s first astronaut, will be the keynote speaker at the IoD NI Annual Dinner 2026. The high-profile black-tie gala will take place on Thursday 10th September 2026 at the Culloden Estate & Spa, supported by headline sponsor Bank of Ireland alongside associate sponsor Arthur Cox.

One of the most anticipated events in the Northern Ireland business calendar, the dinner will bring together over 400 senior leaders, hosted by leading broadcaster Jim Fitzpatrick.

Dr Patten is widely recognised as a leading figure in aerospace, having spent more than a decade advancing through commercial astronaut preparation , conducting research in microgravity environments, and working with international space industries and organisations. Her forthcoming mission positions her at the forefront of global space exploration and solidifies Ireland’s place within the international space community. Her story is one of persistence, scientific excellence and breaking new ground-qualities that resonate strongly with business leaders navigating a rapidly evolving world.
