Belfast’s new Bedford Hotel has announced the appointment of Mike Gatt as General Manager of the luxury 102-room boutique hotel with an onsite destination restaurant and new café bar due to open in October of this year.
With 40 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Mike joins The Bedford Hotel from The Maldron, Belfast City Centre where he has been GM for more than seven years. A Director with the Northern Ireland Hotels Federation, Mike is well respected in the sector having held senior positions across many leading hotel chains including the IHG and Dalata Hotel Groups.
Commenting on his new role, Mike said,” My passion for Belfast and commitment to customer-centric approach is matched by the local founders of The Bedford Hotel. That is what attracted me to the role – a shared vision of excellence in service, accommodation, cuisine and an inclusive and welcoming environment for both staff and visitors, within an historic setting that celebrates everything that makes Belfast so special.
“This magnificent building sets the scene for high expectations that I, alongside a carefully selected professional team, will consistently deliver. These are exciting times for Belfast as a tourist destination with a visible revitalisation of the City Centre, and The Bedford Hotel will play a key role in this. To be part of the team creating an exceptional new hospitality destination for both visitors and locals is such a privilege, and I am very much looking forward to welcoming our guests when we open our doors later this year.”
