Greg McCann, President, Derry Chamber said:
“We are delighted to welcome the annual North West Future of Energy Conference back to Derry this year. This conference has by now become a highlight in our calendar, reflecting both the cross-border approach that is so crucial to the future of our region’s economy and the role that the North West can play in the wider energy transition.
“With Foyle Port and our proximity to the coastline, Derry can play a significant part in the development of both offshore and tidal energy. Days such as the North West Future of Energy Conference serve to underline that. We look forward to a day of informed discussion.”
Claire McDonough, President, Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, said:
“Our members have energy cost and security high on their agendas. They are adopting measures to improve their sustainability and conserve energy. This conference is an opportunity for businesses to explore new ideas, meet the suppliers in the industry, and hear from key stakeholders.
The Future of Energy Conference is relevant across the country, the North West region is working together to address the challenges and explore opportunities for investment and job creation in the renewable energy sector.”
Mark Ennis, Chairman, SSE Ireland, said:
“I am delighted that SSE Renewables have returned once again as sponsor of this year’s North West Future of Energy Conference and to be delivering the keynote address. We have a significant onshore wind operational and development pipeline across the North West, either side of the border, supporting rural communities and local economies. Thank you to both Chambers for hosting us and for their significant leadership in cross-border cooperation.”
