Northern Ireland company Camden Group has been named Sustainable Manufacturer of the Year in a major UK industry awards ceremony.
The Made in the UK Awards celebrate the UK’s most innovative and successful manufacturers, ranging from SMEs to multinationals, drawing together the winners from all the regional events in 2023/24.
Camden, which is one of the largest suppliers of uPVC windows and doors in the UK & Ireland, won in a competitive shortlist of companies in Liverpool on Thursday night.
The Antrim firm was praised by the judges for its circular manufacturing approach, with up to 160 tonnes of old uPVC frames diverted from landfill every week into 80% of its new products.
The company has been a market leader in uPVC products over the past four decades and has invested heavily in recycling processes to produce its range of frames, ensuring the best quality while helping to secure a sustainable future.
Speaking about the award, Camden Group owner and Chairman Brian Lavery said:
“It was fantastic to see Camden recognised in this UK-wide showcase of manufacturing, particularly in this category for sustainability.
“We are proud to have grown the family business into a market leading supplier for the construction industry over the past 40 years and that we have been able to do so with circular manufacturing practices.
“This Award is a recognition of Camden’s contribution to finding innovative approaches in response to environmental demands and a welcome one as we build up to a milestone anniversary.”
