Belfast’s 2Taps Turns Up The Mediterranean Heat With New Chef

Belfast’s much-loved 2Taps Wine Bar has welcomed the arrival of a new chef to its highly accomplished team. Known for his passion, creativity, and extensive experience across some of Northern Ireland’s busiest kitchens, Adam Sarhan brings with him a wealth of culinary expertise and a deep connection to Belfast’s vibrant food culture. His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for 2Taps as the restaurant revisits its culinary roots while reimagining signature dishes with a fresh, modern edge.

The brother and sister duo owners of 2Taps, Jarron and Victoria O’Neill Watson, have just celebrated the restaurant’s 20th anniversary and believe the time is right to launch a new menu under the guidance of this new appointment.

Jarron O’Neill Watson said: “I believe that we are stepping up to a new chapter in 2Taps evolution with a really strong team. We are excited to announce the appointment of Adam as an added bonus in our kitchen and I believe he will help us embrace this fresh start. We have a true appreciation for local, seasonal produce and are focused on revitalising 2Taps original spirit and bringing back customer favourites that first made our family restaurant standout on the Belfast hospitality scene here in the heart of Cathedral Quarter.”

Known for its relaxed Mediterranean-inspired vibe, serving quality sociable small plates in a fun atmosphere and offering warm, community-based hospitality, 2Taps has long been a city-centre favourite.

Speaking about his appointment, Adam Sarhan said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at 2Taps. This restaurant has a special place in the hearts of local diners and tourists, and I want to honour that legacy by working with the team to bring back the dishes people loved whilst reflecting today’s tastes. It’s about balance, considering tradition while being bold enough to innovate. I’m passionate about showcasing Mediterranean style tapas in a creative way and I believe at 2Taps our team is best placed to do that.”

The new menu is nostalgic while forward-thinking. Seasonal ingredients, carefully sourced from local suppliers, will remain at the heart of the offering, ensuring that every dish reflects the best of Northern Ireland’s natural larder.

Victoria O’Neill Watson added: “Belfast’s foodie culture continues to thrive and evolve and with it so does 2Taps. With our reputation for providing an enjoyable, fun filled and quality dining experience, we are confident that this addition to our team will further enhance our standing as a destination restaurant. Adam is the perfect fit for 2Taps because his passion is palpable. He understands what makes our restaurant special and is committed to working with our 30 strong team to bring that essence back to the table in a way that feels fresh and relevant.”
