Belfast-based production company Strident is one of three Northern Ireland recipients of the latest BFI UK Global Screen Fund International Business Development Awards.
The funding will support the appointment of a Development Executive to help drive the company’s international business strategy and growth.
Female-led Strident produces bilingual factual content and has built a reputation for creating high-impact premium documentary singles and series exploring contemporary social issues and trends.
Recent productions include Men of the Manosphere, Caitlin Hanna: Trafficked in Belfast and Hunting the Catfish Crime Gang for the BBC.
Kelda Crawford-McCann, Managing Director of Strident, said: “We’re delighted to receive this support from the BFI UK Global Screen Fund. This investment will help strengthen our international development strategy and create new opportunities to bring distinctive stories from Northern Ireland to audiences around the world. This recognition is an important endorsement of our documentary work.”
The BFI UK Global Screen Fund supports UK screen content businesses to grow internationally, build global partnerships, and expand the international reach of UK storytelling.
