Last week’s Business Eye Sustainability Awards at the Culloden Estate & Spa went off very well…..eventually.
The tragic death of a motorist on the A2 road just yards from the hotel gates left us all with a bit of an issue. The road remained closed from early afternoon until after 8 pm in the evening and, as everyone who knows the Culloden is aware, there’s no other way into or out of the hotel.
With the invaluable help of the PSNI and hotel staff, the awards eventually swung into action around an hour later than planned, allowing enough time for everyone who was supposed to be there to make it through the traffic jams and police cordons. All 350 of them.
To the big winners like GRAHAM, Biopax, Brett Martin and Vyta’s Philip McMichael, many congratulations. And to all of the sponsors, company attendees, guests and other who made it in difficult circumstances. Thank you.
Anxious moments, we had a few. But then again too few to mention.
