Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Emerald Airlines and the largest operator at Belfast City Airport, has announced an expansion of its Belfast City-Southampton schedule for Summer 2026. The expansion will add more than 17,000 seats, meeting the growing demand for cruise-linked travel from one of the UK’s busiest cruise ports.
The airline is to add eight additional weekly flights between Belfast City Airport and Southampton. Included are a new Saturday mid‑morning departure (10:55) from Belfast City Airport along with an early‑afternoon departure (13:05) from Southampton Airport, conveniently timed to connect with cruise boarding and disembarking times. Frequency will also be stepped up throughout the week, offering greater flexibility for both leisure and business travellers
Ian Lough, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines said: “We are delighted to offer even more choice, flexibility and conveniently-timed flights for passengers travelling between Belfast City Airport and Southampton. These additional seats and improved timings will offer passengers even more choice this upcoming Summer season.”
Ellie McGimpsey, Aviation Development Manager at Belfast City Airport, said:

“The expansion of Aer Lingus Regional’s Belfast City–Southampton service further builds on this, particularly ahead of the peak cruise season.
