Female entrepreneurs from all over rural Ireland came together for a national event to celebrate the completion of 10 years of ACORNS – Accelerating the Creation of Rural Nascent Start-ups.
ACORNS is an award-winning business development programme for early-stage female entrepreneurs from rural areas. It has been running since 2014 and is funded through the Rural Innovation and Development Fund by the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine (DAFM).
ACORNS has successfully supported 550 female entrepreneurs over the last decade and this year’s national annual Community Forum was extra special to mark that milestone.
Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food, and the Marine, Noel Grealish TD attended yesterday’s event (Monday, April 7th) and met over 100 ACORNS Community members and the voluntary Lead Entrepreneurs. ACORNS 10 has now drawn to a close and it is planned that new applications for the next cycle of ACORNS will be launched during the summer.
