Bartra Homecare Enters The Irish Care Marketplace

Over 3,000 jobs are set to be created nationwide in the next five years through a specialised homecare service driven by the Bartra Group.

Bartra Homecare will be headed by former Dublin Bus CEO Ray Coyne, and promises to deliver an enhanced model of person-centred care benefitting both private and public service users, and employees.

Initially concentrating on the Greater Dublin Area, including counties Meath, Kildare and Wicklow, the Irish-owned enterprise aims to achieve nationwide coverage, servicing 3,000 clients within three years.

“Our purpose is to raise the standard of home care in Ireland, one home at a time,” said Mr Coyne.

“We will do this through our excellent recruitment methods and recognition of our employees, allied to strong governance to deliver consistent, safe and high-quality care for service users.

“With this in place, our business will be known as a great place to work, with our clients enjoying real and positive relationships with their chosen homecare assistants.

“Viewing your business from behind a desk only gives you limited information, so I have spent a lot of evenings in houses talking to clients and homecare assistants about what they truly value when using and delivering home care services.

“People have a lot going on in their lives, both service users and employees, and if you are truly open to understanding that, then you can achieve a business that matches employee and client needs.

“This will create consistent and long-lasting home care relationships that allow people remain active in their community.”

Headquartered initially in central Dublin, but based in communities as they scale, Bartra Homecare will offer care for activities of daily living moving into dementia and palliative care.

Inspired by the growing influence of European models, Bartra sees a future where the client designs the model of care that they require, rather than fitting into a one-size-fits-all approach.

“We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to live the life they choose, in the comfort of their own home and community, supported by high-quality, person-centred care,” said Mr Coyne.

“To give people the homecare they want and deserve, you must continuously talk to, and importantly, listen to, your customers and your employees.

“It is only then can you deliver care with dignity, independence and choice”.

“This could be as simple as a service user, for a change, wanting to watch a sporting event on TV with their carer and enjoying their company, as well as, or instead of, having their main care tasks done.

“We focus on what is good for the client and adjust services to meet their changing needs.

“And for our employees, being valued, being sure about their hours and pay, and consistent client matching is paramount.

“We will become known throughout our communities for delivering high quality care through high quality carers.

“To do that, we will be a great place to work and value our employees and clients.”
