AIB recently hosted a Volunteer Recognition Event to celebrate employees who have volunteered their time and expertise to support young people through the Young Enterprise Our World and Project Business programmes.
The event recognised the valuable contribution made by AIB employees who have worked directly with students, helping them develop their understanding of business, financial capability, employability and the wider economy. Through their involvement, volunteers have helped bring classroom learning to life and provided young people with practical insights into the world of work.
Certificates of recognition were presented by Brian Gillan, Head of Retail & NI at AIB (NI), in appreciation of the commitment, enthusiasm and support demonstrated by volunteers throughout the year.
Brian Gillan, Head of Retail & NI at AIB (NI), said:
“Our people are passionate about making a difference in the communities we serve, and I am incredibly proud of the commitment shown by our volunteers. Through our partnership with Young Enterprise, colleagues have the opportunity to share their skills and experiences with young people, helping them build confidence, develop key life skills and broaden their understanding of the world of work. Today’s event is an opportunity to recognise and thank our volunteers for the positive impact they continue to make.”
Carol Fitzsimons, MBE, CEO, Young Enterprise Northern Ireland, said:
“We are extremely grateful to AIB for its continued support of Young Enterprise and for the dedication of its staff volunteers. The knowledge, encouragement and real-world perspective they bring to the Our World and Project Business programmes greatly enriches the learning experience for young people. By sharing their expertise, AIB volunteers help students develop valuable skills, increase their confidence and gain a deeper understanding of future career opportunities.”
The event reflects AIB’s ongoing commitment to supporting financial education, skills development and opportunities for young people, while strengthening connections between business and education across Northern Ireland.
