Belfast Aesthetics Business Marks Milestone Anniversary

Ten years after first opening its doors, Face Therapy NI, on the Antrim Road, is marking its milestone anniversary with its biggest development to date, becoming an RQIA-registered Independent Hospital and expanding into day-patient surgery. The investment so far has created 5 new jobs , with more planned in the coming months. This investment represents a significant evolution for Face Therapy NI.

Founded in 2016, the Belfast-based aesthetics business has unveiled two dedicated theatre rooms which can now be booked by consultant surgeons to carry out a range of day-patient surgical procedures.

Led by Clinical Director and Registered Nurse Lisa Duffy Waring, alongside her wife Geri Duffy Waring , Manager and Company Director, Face Therapy NI has grown from its beginnings in non-invasive aesthetics into an increasingly diverse clinical business.

At the heart of that growth has been a philosophy that aesthetics is about much more than appearance. The team has built the business around helping clients feel more confident in their own skin, focusing not on quick fixes but on meaningful, lasting results delivered through expert care and a personal approach.

The latest expansion takes that philosophy into a new area of patient care by opening up Face Therapy NI’s two new theatre rooms to consultant surgeons looking for an Independent Hospital setting in which to carry out appropriate day-patient procedures.

Lisa Duffy Waring, Clinical Director of Face Therapy NI, said:

“When we started Face Therapy ten years ago, I don’t think we could have imagined quite how far the business would come.  Marking our 10th anniversary by becoming a registered Independent Hospital feels like an incredibly significant moment for us.

“Face Therapy has always been driven by a genuine passion for what we do. There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing the difference that the right treatment can make to someone’s confidence and how they feel about themselves.

“We have never been interested in simply offering quick fixes. Our focus has always been on expert care, getting the right result for the individual and giving every person who comes through our doors a very personal experience.

“Becoming an Independent Hospital allows us to take that approach much further.”

Already working from the new facility are Dr Patrick Campbell, offering labiaplasty, Dr George Christopoulos offering upper and lower blepharoplasty, FaceTite, NeckTite, gynaecomastia procedures and knee, thigh and arm tightening, alongside resident award-winning specialist aesthetics Doctor, Dr Mehdi Sadeghnejad, offering Quantum10, nanofat transfer, liposuction to small areas, and the one-stitch facelift.

The new model also creates an opportunity for additional consultant surgeons to work from Face Therapy NI, using its theatre facilities to treat their own patients.

Surgeons can book the facilities and pay a booking fee for their use while retaining their own treatment fee, an approach designed to give consultants greater flexibility over how and where they practise.

Consultant Urogynaecologist and Cosmetic Gynaecologist Dr Patrick Campbell is developing his private cosmetic gynaecology practice through his partnership with Face Therapy NI.

He is carrying out labiaplasty procedures at the Face Therapy NI clinic, with patients travelling from across Ireland for treatment.

Patrick says:

“Working with Face Therapy NI has given me the opportunity to develop my cosmetic gynaecology practice while retaining the independence and flexibility that are important to me.

“Moving my cosmetic gynaecology practice to Face Therapy NI has made it easier for patients to access appointments and provides a discreet setting for labiaplasty surgery.

“We have had patients travelling from across Ireland for treatment, and we are expanding our clinics to meet demand.

“For me, the appeal is not simply the theatre facilities. Lisa and Geri have created a personal environment with a strong focus on the patient experience, which fits well with how I want to develop my practice.

“I see this as a long-term relationship and look forward to continuing to develop my consultancy alongside Face Therapy NI.”

For Geri, who oversees the management and business development of Face Therapy NI, the expansion also represents an opportunity to build a new network of relationships with consultant surgeons.

She said:

“The two new theatre rooms open up a completely different side of Face Therapy and create a really exciting opportunity for surgeons who are looking for somewhere to carry out day-patient procedures.

“Our model is very straightforward. Consultants can book the facilities they require and pay the relevant booking fee while retaining their own treatment fee.

“We want to build relationships with surgeons who share our approach to patient care and give them the opportunity to work within a professional, private and welcoming environment.

“Celebrating ten years is already very special for Lisa and I, but to be entering our second decade as an Independent Hospital makes this anniversary even more significant. It feels like the beginning of a completely new chapter for Face Therapy.”

The expansion sees Face Therapy NI continue to offer its established portfolio of non-invasive aesthetic treatments while developing the surgical and advanced procedures available through the Independent Hospital.

It also forms part of the company’s wider ambition to strengthen its role within the professional aesthetics industry through clinical collaboration, education and training.
