Henry Brothers is celebrating a major success at the 2026 CEF Awards after its Queen’s-led Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Centre (AMIC) project was named Overall Project of the Year, the highest honour presented at the prestigious awards.
The landmark project also took home Commercial Construction Project of the Year, making it a double award win for Henry Brothers at one of the most anticipated events in Northern Ireland’s construction industry.
The Overall Project of the Year accolade recognises the outstanding project from across the construction sector in Northern Ireland.
David Henry, Chief Executive Officer of Henry Brothers, said:
“To see AMIC recognised as the Overall Project of the Year is a tremendous achievement and one that everyone involved in the project can take great pride in.
“From the outset, AMIC was an ambitious project with the potential to make a lasting contribution to Northern Ireland’s advanced manufacturing and innovation sectors. Seeing the finished facility receive this level of recognition is a fantastic way to mark what has been a very special year for Henry Brothers.
“There is a huge amount of work, expertise and collaboration behind a project of this scale, and this award is a wonderful acknowledgement of the collective effort that went into delivering it. We would like to thank everyone who played a part in bringing AMIC to life.”
Henry Brothers was appointed main contractor for the state-of-the-art £40 million centre, a flagship 10,500 sqm ‘Factory of the Future’ developed by Queen’s University Belfast in partnership with Ulster University and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
The landmark facility has been designed to support advanced manufacturing, innovation and collaboration, providing a world-class environment for research, education and industry.
Henry Brothers was also highly commended for the Social Value Award, recognising the company’s ongoing commitment to creating a positive social impact through its work and supporting the communities in which it operates.
The double award success provides a fitting highlight to Henry Brothers’ 50th anniversary year, celebrating five decades of construction and reinforcing the company’s track record in delivering complex, high-value projects that contribute to the future of Northern Ireland and beyond.
