Executive team members from Arclin, a leading global materials science company, visited the Kevlar® manufacturing facility in Maydown, following Arclin’s recent acquisition of the DuPont™ Aramids business.
Completed on 1 April, the acquisition represents a transformational milestone for Arclin, significantly expanding the company’s scale, capabilities, and global manufacturing footprint across mission‑critical industries. As a result of the deal, which includes the iconic Kevlar® and Nomex® brands, approximately 1,800 team members worldwide, including those at the Maydown site, have joined Arclin.
Arclin is headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia, USA, and operates manufacturing facilities across North & South America, Europe, and Asia. The addition of the Aramids business strengthens the company’s leadership in advanced materials used in personal protection, transportation, infrastructure, weather & fire protection, aerospace, and electrical applications.
The visit to Maydown was part of Arclin’s broader global integration program, which sees senior leadership engaging directly with teams at newly acquired sites to gain deeper insight into their operations, people, and technical expertise. The visit concluded with a tree‑planting ceremony, during which Maydown team members and Arclin leaders worked side by side to plant a native whitebeam.
Mark Glaspey, Arclin’s President, said, “We were delighted to be in Northern Ireland to meet our colleagues at Maydown and welcome them to Arclin. Kevlar® is one of the world’s most recognised performance materials, and as the site joins Arclin, our focus is on embedding our safety‑first culture and operating standards across all aspects of the business.”
Bradley Bolduc, Arclin’s Chief Executive Officer, added, “The Maydown site has a long history within the local community, and our focus now is on bringing that legacy forward through innovation and new opportunities for Kevlar® across a broader range of applications. Visits like this are an important part of our integration approach as we connect directly with our teams to identify pathways for sustainable growth and long‑term success.”
Arclin is a portfolio company of an affiliate of TJC, L.P., a private equity firm with more than 40 years of experience partnering with companies across industrial and technology sectors.
