“I’m incredibly proud of all our staff who have worked so hard to raise this amazing total. A big thank-you also to all our customers who really dug deep to help us make a real difference to AWARE. I visited one of their support groups and saw at first hand the fantastic and vital work they do to help people with mental health issues,” explained Terry Robb.
Throughout June bank staff organised so many different events and challenges, from running, cycling and mountain hikes to raffles, afternoon teas, auctions, busking, quizzes and BBQs.
On the day of the Big Reveal staff were fundraising right up to lunchtime, with senior management staff dishing up breakfasts in the canteen at Ulster Bank’s head offices and Danesfort staff running a superb car washing enterprise for colleagues.
Thanking Ulster Bank for their tremendous contribution Teresa Sloan from AWARE said, “Through their fabulous work, Ulster Bank staff and customers will be helping to sustain and grow our 24 support groups for a full year. I’m so grateful to everyone at Ulster Bank it really has been a brilliant and extremely enjoyable partnership.
“In addition to all the wonderful fundraising the partnership has opened up important conversations about mental health with customers chatting to bank staff in a very open and honest way. This is so important and will have a very positive and lasting impact.”
