International law firm Pinsent Masons is celebrating a triple success in Belfast with two national awards closely following a major regional accolade. The firm was named Legal Business magazine’s Law Firm of the Year for the second time in the past four years.

Pinsent Masons was recognised for its demonstrable commitment to doing business in the right way and for the right reasons.
Over the past 12 months the firm has been at the forefront of collaborative efforts to: improve wellbeing, through the pioneering Mindful Business Charter; promote greater gender diversity by engaging with the authorities to improve the quality of gender pay gap reporting within professional services; and champion greater inclusion of the LGBT community around the world.

The firm also picked up the Energy and Infrastructure Team of the Year award alongside Heathrow and BCLP for the trio’s ground-breaking, technology-enabled collaboration to support the delivery of a third runway at the airport.

These awards came just a week after the firm was named Corporate Law Firm of the year at this year’s Insider Northern Ireland Dealmakers Awards.

The annual Insider Dealmaker Awards recognise the corporate finance firms, banks, funders, private equity houses and individuals who have excelled in dealmaking over the past year. Pinsent Masons’ Corporate Team in Belfast was selected as winner of Corporate Law Firm of the year by a panel of industry experts. They were impressed by not only the volume of and headline deals that the team has worked on but also their innovative use of technology and AI in delivering legal services.

The team has completed more than 20 deals in the last 12 months, with a combined value in excess of £1bn and spanning a range of sectors.

Richard Masters, Chair of Northern Ireland and Scotland at Pinsent Masons said, “We’re delighted to receive this award, which recognises the market leading work carried out by the team in partnership with our clients. The team has excelled in the past twelve months and has continued to focus on high value deals in the local market in the energy, private equity and manufacturing sectors.

“Operating as part of Pinsent Masons’ international corporate team enables us draw on deep technical support from our colleagues internationally. Our expertise in tax, competition and pensions gives us a unique position in the market and enables us to fully support our clients, and we look forward to another strong year in 2019.”
