Liam Clarke from West Belfast has over 18 years’ experience in the recruitment industry and he recently identified a gap in the market in the technology sector and launched his own online company, TechJobsNI.
“I have worked across all sectors but more latterly my experience has been in the technology sector. I found that it was an increasingly challenging and competitive sector with employers finding it hard to get the right type of talent. The site works exclusively with employers to help them connect with the right people in the industry directly. It brings the talent to them,” Liam explains.
Although early days for the company, Liam has already enlisted several big hitting technology employers who are taking part in a free trail to get the site up and running.
“Thanks to the support of the Go For It programme I was able to take the leap of faith from my regular job security and try out this new business venture.
“They supported me and gave me the tools necessary to get up and running. They were able to help me with financial planning and to see the bigger picture. They were also able to help me think more creatively about how to get the product out there and how to market it.
“I reached out to them and they have been supportive every step of the way. Even after the programme finished I was still able to email my advisor for help and advice which has been invaluable. I would definitely advise anyone who is working on a new business start up to get in touch with the Go For It Programme. The Go For It programme is delivered free of charge by a team of experienced business mentors through Northern Ireland’s wide network of enterprise agencies. It provides expert advice and help with developing a robust business plan to help turn ideas into a commercial enterprise.
