The flagship Belfast showroom of leading furniture supplier, Sliderobes, has opened following a full refurbishment after significant investment by its owners. The company, which designs, manufactures and installs bespoke furniture and storage solutions, was acquired in 2016 by businessmen Mervyn McCall and Paul Rothwell who have outlined their plans to grow the business with additional sites.

The newly refurbished Boucher Crescent showroom is the first to unveil Sliderobes’ new Design Studio concept with this approach set to be rolled out across 12 partner sites throughout the UK and Ireland.

Paul Rothwell, Sliderobes Group Managing Director, said:

“The new Design Studio concept is very much about marrying design and storage, making the very most, both aesthetically and practically, of whatever space is available. This is the model we plan to roll out to new, additional sites as we grow the business.

“It is a very exciting time for Sliderobes and for our customers who will benefit from a much greater choice of luxurious products, including matching accessories such as dressing tables or bedside units.

“Alongside the refurbishment we have invested heavily in world-class 3D software which provides flexibility when designing storage solutions for almost any space. This allows the customers to view photo-like imagery and visualise exactly how their designs will look like in the chosen room.”

As one important addition to the team, renowned interior designer Joanna Azevedo has joined as Head of Design.

Paul continued:

“Having Joanna on board as Head of Design takes our offering to the next level and really allows our clients to visualise how storage can not only look so much better, but how it can also be more effective and practical than a standard wardrobe in the corner of the room.

“The refurbished Belfast Design Studio showroom is a welcoming space presenting a variety of room sets from bedrooms, to a living room, to a home office, to a walk-in dressing room. All of these room sets showcase the latest trends in interiors and allow our customers to see and touch a huge range of interior materials.”

Speaking of the investment, Chairman Mervyn McCall said:

“I knew the business had significant growth potential should the right team and strategy be in place.

“We had a clear vision of where the business could go, given the right resources. With Paul as Managing Director there is now structure in place to achieve this vision and realise the potential.”
