Northern Ireland’s biggest celebration of cultural diversity, the Belfast Mela Festival will be sponsored by Sensata Technologies this year with more than 40 events planned across the city starting with the Mela Carnival Parade on Saturday 20 August right through to Sunday 28 August when the traditional Mela Day returns to Botanic Gardens after a break of two years due to the pandemic. Adriana Morvaiova, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Specialist for Sensata Technologies, says: “We are proud to continue our support for the Belfast Mela which brings together culture, colour and creativity.

The ethos of this festival aligns well with our diversity goals and how we want to work: learning from each other, celebrating each other, being open to diverse perspectives and always innovating. It’s great to see the festival continuing with an eight-day format with lots of events for all the family culminating in the return to Botanic Gardens on the last Sunday in August.”

Hazel Francey, Chair of Arts Ekta, organiser of the Belfast Mela said: “We are delighted that for the fifth year running Sensata Technologies is once again our title sponsor, sharing our vision for a society that respects different cultures and communities in Northern Ireland.”

The 17th Belfast Mela Festival, sponsored by Sensata Technologies starts on Saturday 20 August and runs until Sunday 28 August with a variety of events lined up each day.
