Radius Housing is calling on landowners, developers, architects and anyone with an interest in housebuilding to join them in an online seminar on the future of social and affordable housing in Northern Ireland. The housing association is holding the seminar as part of their plans to support the wider construction sector and local economy in the recovery from Covid, Radius Housing is a leading developer of social and affordable housing in Northern Ireland and they aim to construct 400 new homes each year.

Radius also owns and manages more than 13,000 social homes across Northern Ireland. Earlier this year they secured an investment of £105million from US and UK investors, which is supporting the construction of hundreds of new homes, including new developments at Blacks Gate in Belfast, Ebrington in Derry/Londonderry and Ardmore Road in Newry.

The online seminar aims to build new collaborative relationships with landowners, developers and architects to help identify opportunities and available land for new housing projects right across Northern Ireland.

Launching the seminar, Anita Conway, Director of Development at Radius Housing, said “At Radius we continue to have ambitions plans to build more than 400 new social and affordable homes each year. The £105m investment we secured earlier this year was a huge vote of confidence in the social housing sector in Northern Ireland and in Radius as a leading housing developer. Now we want to build new collaborative partnerships to help us meet our goals. Successful development projects need a strong team, and Radius has a strong track record of delivering projects in this way.

“House building is a key opportunity for the local economy recovery as we look to emerge from the Covid-19 crisis. It creates jobs and supply chain opportunities, as well as providing much needed homes in areas of housing stress. Radius is looking to partner with new and existing developers so that we can maximize our role in the sector across N.I and contribute to the economic recovery by building new homes and communities.

“This seminar will give those who haven’t worked with a housing association before the chance to understand how we work. We hope that this seminar will help us to identify new opportunities, such as land availability, new construction partners and will open the door to new collaborative partnerships.”

The online seminar will take place on the 3rd December 2020, and to register your interest please email New Business Manager, Danny Fowler at danny.fowler@radiushousing.org.
