The success of Diageo Baileys Global Supply health and safety scheme is seeing local charities benefit to the tune of £7,500 this Christmas as the company celebrates zero ‘Loss Time’ Accidents (LTA’s) at its Mallusk site.
As part of its focus on health and safety Diageo Baileys donates funds to charity for each accident-free month that occurs. All the charities are nominated by employees and this year eight organisations were invited onsite to benefit from the team’s successful performance over the recent months.
Michael Hailes, Plant Manager, Diageo Baileys Global Supply Mallusk commented, “The current economic climate is presenting real fund raising challenges for many community and voluntary organisations and we believe it is more important than ever to support the great work being carried out by many groups across the sector.
“This initiative is driven by our employees and it is their professionalism and dedication that is enabling local charities to benefit. In fact, we have now exceeded 1,400 days without an LTA and I would like to congratulate our whole team because it is their hard work that is ultimately helping to support those people in our society who are most vulnerable.”
