Local shoe and lingerie boutique Honey based on Belfast’s Lisburn Road is in the frame to win an award for Best Concept Shop in the UK and Ireland.
The ‘Stars Underlines’ Best Shop Awards recognise and reward the achievements of the best independent, department stores and speciality shops in the UK and Ireland and is part of a wider international award competition running in Germany, USA and Italy. The awards highlight the value and innovation shown internationally by small/medium sized retailers and e-tailers.
Over 340 companies from the UK and Ireland entered the awards and out of the 62 finalists, Honey was the only shop from Northern Ireland to be shortlisted. Another five retail shops based in the Republic of Ireland have also been shortlisted in other categories including department store Brown Thomas in Dublin.
Clodagh Shortt, owner of Honey commented, “To be considered as one of the best concept shops in the UK and Ireland is a great achievement for us and shows that all of our hard work is paying off. We are also delighted to be the only shortlisted company from Northern Ireland in the competition and look forward to representing Belfast as a top boutique shopping destination at the awards.”
The awards are independently judged by a panel of 21 international brands and winners will be announced at a Gala Awards Ceremony on 10th November 2011 in London.
