The announcement was made at the Annual General Meeting, where the Chair for 2019, Darren Jackson, presented Keri with the chains of office. She commented:
“It is an honour to become the Chair of PANI and work alongside the President and council. In an industry that is always evolving, it is crucial that we are able to remain relevant and truly represent the creative, media, marketing communications and production communities that make up Northern Ireland’s bustling publicity industry.
“In my role as Chair, I want to make sure PANI is accessible to the people working in our industry, at all levels, through our series of networking events and education programmes, through collaboration and support, all while promoting and celebrating excellence in our industry.
“Although things are very uncertain at the moment, I do hope, that during my tenure as Chair, I still get to oversee the return of the PANI Awards in October and I look forward to regrouping with the rest of the council some time soon to plan a whole host of events and initiatives for 2020.”
One of the biggest programmes in the PANI calendar is the Student Workshops, delivered in partnership with Ulster University.
The PANI Student Workshops brings students from the Communication, Advertising and Marketing degree together with various media agencies and organisations to create a campaign for a local charity, which this year has been confirmed as Rosie’s Trust.
Through the educational programme, the student teams will gain invaluable, hands on experience from some NI’s top media agencies and the winning team will see their work brought to life in a live multimedia campaign.
