Visitors to Malmaison Belfast will be wowed by the recent renovation of its Chez Mal Bar, set to become the latest luxury hotspot on the Belfast bar scene. The uber-chic space is a mix of bright colours, sumptuous sofas and quirky accents.

Enjoy Instagram-friendly, custom-made neon artwork, stunning metallic chandeliers and a ceiling adorned with luscious foliage and hanging plants. Chez Mal Bar has a distinctly opulent feel, perfect for lively after-work cocktails or a stylish Saturday night out on the town.
Renowned for its delectable cocktails, Chez Mal Bar is delighted to introduce its latest cutting-edge ‘Malchemy’ cocktail menu. These latest concoctions are inspired by the legendary tale of Napoleon and Josephine, and their passionate time together at the Château de Malmaison in Paris. Cocktail aficionados can try Power is My Mistress, with Belvedere vodka, Lillet Blanc, sugar and vanilla bitters, or That’s Amore, with Amaro Montenegro, Italicus, lemon, orgeat, and egg. This tempting range of cocktail creations are perfect to enjoy in one of Belfast’s most buzzing locations.
Throughout the week, the bar comes to life with events and regular acoustic musicians, creating further ambience.
Lovers of brunch and bubbles are in for a treat on Saturday; revellers can enjoy two whole hours of unlimited prosecco or Heineken accompanied by a scrumptious brunch plate for just £24.95
Chris McLaughlin, General Manager of Malmaison Belfast, commented, “Belfast’s bar scene has been booming in recent years, and with our dramatic transformation and new Malchemy cocktail menu, we’re ready to reclaim Chez Mal’s position as the city’s go-to destination.”
The stylish Chez Mal Bar is part of a broader investment into the boutique hotel, reaffirming Malmaison Belfast’s confidence and commitment to Northern Ireland’s hospitality sector.
Work is currently underway to transform all bedrooms, which will be completed later this month. It comes at a time of significant expansion for the Malmaison brand, with three new hotels set to open over the next 24 months. These include Bournemouth, where the brand is in the early stages of developing a newbuild hotel; Edinburgh, where renovation work has already begun on the Grade A Listed Buchan House, which will be the brand’s second site in the city; and York, where work is underway to open a new 150 room hotel.
