Ulster Bank has bucked recent trends by opening a new £1.1million branch at the Westwood Centre in West Belfast.

The new branch continues the bank’s long history in West Belfast, having had a branch in Andersonstown area since the mid-1960s.

It will provide customers in the area with a state-of-the-art facility to do their banking, including iPad stations for customer use, and greater staff presence on the banking floor.

It will also offer additional services to customers, including free financial health checks, a coin deposit machine and foreign currency including a Euro ATM machine. The branch will also open late on Thursday evenings, in addition to existing hours.

The new facility replaces the old branch at Andersonstown Leisure Centre, which closed when the leisure centre shut its doors to undergo a £25million redevelopment.

It will employ a range of roles including a mortgage adviser, senior personal bankers and front line team members.

Sean Murphy, Managing Director of Personal Banking, Ulster Bank, says: “Branches remain an important part of the service that we offer, and this new branch represents a significant investment, providing a modern facility for our customers. We look forward to welcoming personal customers, mortgage seekers, businesses and other customers alike to branch.”
