Northern Ireland’s leading professional recruitment consultancy has announced its plans to significantly expand its current office footprint by moving into Flax House in Belfast city centre.   MCS Group is the latest confirmed tenant at the recently refurbished Grade A accommodation in Belfast’s burgeoning business district and will occupy the third floor, which comprises 5,597 sq ft.

Established in 2008, MCS Group has established itself as one of Northern Ireland’s leading recruitment firms, working across multiple industries, including ICT, Technical & Engineering, Accountancy & Banking, Legal, HR and Professional Sales & Marketing.

Barry Smyth, managing director, MCS Group commented: “Flax House presents our business with the high-end, modern office accommodation and facilities that we require for the ongoing growth of the business.

“We believe that this move will not only facilitate and inspire our employees to even greater success but will also work for our clients and industry groups, as a considerable portion of the office will be dedicated to multi-functional event space.

“Despite our challenges, we see long term potential and further growth opportunities in Northern Ireland. As a region we continue to produce a huge pool of talent, providing both local companies and global operators with the talent they need to develop their businesses and we look forward to contributing to their continued success.”

Similar to other city centre Grade A refurbishment projects such as Linen Loft and Lincoln House, Flax House has been sensitively renovated to provide high-spec offices whilst maintaining many of the traditional aspects of the original build.

Key features include a glazed atrium which has been integrated with the existing fabric to provide a striking foyer and communal meeting space. Furthermore, the building comes complete with efficient c.6,000 sq ft floor plates on each floor.

CBRE acted on behalf of MCS Group acquiring the space.

David Wright, director, CBRE commented: “We are delighted to act on behalf of MCS Group to guide them through the process of relocating to a new office. It will provide the perfect base for them as they seek to continue their impressive growth story.

“Companies are seeking more efficient and modern accommodation that is conducive to attracting and retaining a talented workforce, and refurbishment projects continue to be vital in delivering supply into the market.”

Colliers acted on behalf of the landlord, Straidorn Properties.

The location benefits from its proximity to public transport nodes at City Hall, and Central and Great Victoria Street Bus and Train Stations.

The area also benefits from a wide range of amenities including hotels, bars, restaurants, gyms, coffee shops and convenience retail.
