CARRICKFERGUS-based specialist refurbishment and fit-out company, McCue Crafted Fit has completed their latest project at the newly-refurbished Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, which re-opened to the public on Thursday 18th April. Having worked on a number of award-winning, distinguished projects throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, McCue has an already impressive portfolio, however their latest work at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens puts the company at the forefront of high-quality refurbishments and fit-outs in Northern Ireland and beyond.

During the extensive five-year £24million transformation, which was commissioned by independent charity, Historic Royal Palaces, McCue’s expert site team carried out works on both the new lower and upper visitor centres, as well as the stable yard.

McCue supplied and fitted-out a range of bespoke furniture for the catering and retail areas of both visitor centres, which included feature seating, reception desks and welcome desks. All products, showcasing various finishes, were manufactured by the company at their 60,000sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Carrickfergus.

Speaking about the contract, McCue’s managing director Les McCracken said, “McCue has worked on many prestigious projects throughout our 60 plus years in the industry but this was a very special project for our team. Being able to create bespoke pieces of furniture for the visitor centres at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens, and leaving our mark on this monumental building, is a fantastic achievement and we’re delighted to have been involved.”

McCue Crafted Fit has completed the fit-out and refurbishment of many illustrious projects including The Berkeley Hotel, The Four Seasons at Ten Trinity Square, which featured in the 2012 Bond movie, Skyfall and locally, the award-winning Friend at Hand Whiskey Shop, Harp Bar, Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, Belfast and the Danske Bank Headquarters.
