With the Supreme Court due to hear the final appeal in the Asher’s Bakery case from the end of April, this week Belfast firm O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors partnered with Legal-Island to deliver an employment law breakfast seminar covering advice on a range of workplace equality issues relating to maternity leave and rights, sick leave, language policies, flexible working, and disability legislation. Legal-Island customers from the public, private and third sectors participated in the interactive workshop style event.

Scott Alexander, Head of Learning and Development at Legal-Island said;  “With the UK’s highest court sitting in Belfast for the first time next week, the issue of equality will be front of mind for employers. This workshop was a fantastic help to our customers in providing advice in how to deal with sensitive workplace equality issues. Feedback from the session has been wholly positive and we are very grateful to O’Reilly Stewart solicitors for their expertise and assistance.”
