Hagan Homes, one of Northern Ireland’s largest homebuilders, has started construction on 16 new two-bedroom apartments at The Tides development in Carrickfergus.   The scheme, on Old Shore Road, is contracted to MCA Building and Joinery.

Prices for the turnkey homes will range between £225,000 and £250,000.

Jim Burke, Director of Sales and Acquisitions at Ballyclare headquartered Hagan Homes, said: “The Tides is located on the Old Shore Road and has beautiful uninterrupted views of Belfast Lough towards Cultra and Bangor. The development strikes the ideal balance between comfort and convenience, providing easy access to the surrounding Carrickfergus area and its amenities.

“The apartments will boast a luxurious finish to full turn-key specification including high quality fixtures and fittings throughout.

“We expect demand to be high for homes at The Tides because of their accessibility and easy maintenance but also their high living character.”

The first of the apartments will be handed over in January 2021 with the remainder due for completion in May 2021.

“Carrickfergus is very popular residential location as much as it is a day trip destination. With breath-taking sea views, an exciting culinary offering and excellent transport links, The Tides is ideally positioned to give buyers nature, activity and excitement,” added Mr Burke.

Amenities close to The Tides includes Carrickfergus Omniplex, and Amphitheatre Wellness Centre and a host of high street retail giants.

Welcoming the announcement Mayor of Mid and East Antrim, Councillor Peter Johnston, said:

“The Tides will be a welcome addition to the residential offering in Carrickfergus meeting the increasing housing demands in the area.

“It will also provide a welcome boost to the local economy, creating jobs in Carrickfergus during the construction phase, as well as increasing footfall for the many businesses located within close proximity to the scheme. Growing the economy is this council’s number one priority and we see developments such as The Tides contributing to favourable conditions that allow businesses to flourish.

“We look forward to the launch of the new housing offering when it is completed in 2021.”
