The Game of Thrones Touring Exhibition has arrived at TEC Belfast, Northern Ireland for its debut visit to UK and Ireland. The exhibition, designed by HBO® Licensing & Retail and GES Events, is brought to Northern Ireland by TBL International, the management company behind the award-winning Titanic Belfast, SS Nomadic and TEC Belfast.

The local company has brought the official and largest GAME OF THRONES public display, including two-never-seen before sets, designed specially by GES Events in collaboration with HBO Licensing & Retail, to the 5,000m2 venue. The exhibition combines costumes, authentic props and majestic settings from all seven seasons of the Emmy award-winning series to create an interactive and immersive GAME OF THRONES® experience like no other, and was attended by GAME OF THRONES actors, Isaac Hempstead Wright, Ian Beattie and Liam Cunningham, alongside award-winning costume designer, Michele Clapton.

The series based on books written by George RR Martin is broadcast in 200 territories and each episode is viewed by 15 million people and is a significant economic driver and tourism draw for Northern Ireland.

The exhibition, supported by Tourism NI, adds to Northern Ireland’s claim as GAME OF THRONES® Territory, which is already home to 26 stunning filming locations and 20 visitor experiences, showcasing the seven kingdoms.

TBL International’s Chief Executive Judith Owens said, “We are proud to launch GAME OF THRONES: The Touring Exhibition to Belfast in partnership with HBO and GES Events, a world leader in live events, exhibitions, conferences and entertainment experiences. There is no better place for the exhibition that celebrates the artistry and craftmanship behind the Emmy award-winning series than Northern Ireland, the principle filming location, both in natural settings and within Titanic Studios and we are pleased to be building upon its legacy.”

Tourism NI’s Chief Executive, John McGrillen commented, “We are delighted with the arrival of the exhibition and look forward to welcoming many more visitors here for the first official experience for fans in the UK and Ireland. Given the unique and central role that Northern Ireland has played in the life and legacy of the show, visiting the exhibition here will offer an authentic travel opportunity for fans to immerse themselves in the world of Westeros and explore some of the 26 spectacular filming locations which have formed the perfect backdrop for the world’s biggest TV show.”

“Taking GAME OF THRONES: The Touring Exhibition to the place where so much of the series is filmed, the beautiful Northern Ireland, just feels right,” said Jeff Peters, VP of Licensing and Retail at HBO. “The stunning landscapes of Northern Ireland have been almost like another character on the show, so we are thrilled the people of Belfast will now be able to experience the exhibition.”

“The spectacle and wonder of this ground-breaking show has come full circle, with the craftsmanship and artistry of the props, costumes and settings, showcased right here where GAME OF THRONES was filmed,” said Robin Stapley, vice president, design and creative, GES Events. “We are incredibly proud to be part of that legacy, and we look forward to inviting fans from all over the world to immerse themselves in the world of Westeros.”
